BIOGRAPHY

Al-Mahmodi is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Binghamton University (SUNY), building on an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering/Renewable Energy from the University of Jordan and a B.S. in Electrical Power Engineering from Yarmouk University. He was a team member, acting as a renewable-energy researcher, where he had advanced three international funded projects: a Royal Academy of Engineering in UK project on “Innovative Peer-to-Peer Electricity Sharing Toward Smart and Cooperative Microgrids” (2019-2022), for which he designed trading algorithms and P2P energy trading platform, modeled cooperative microgrids, and co-developed a prosumer business model; a second Royal Academy project, “Decarbonizing Jordanian Energy Systems with Smart Storage Solutions” (2021-2023), where he applied multi-criteria decision methods and optimization algorithms to maximize storage utilization and cut CO₂ emissions; and a GIZ-backed program, “Green Hydrogen and Power-to-X Capacity-Building for Jordan’s Future Workforce” (2022-2023), through which he created university teaching modules, analyzed hydrogen production pathways, and delivered hands-on training.
