Multi-Objective Evaluation of Green Hydrogen Production and Utilization to Support the Hydrogen Economy in Jordan
This pioneering research project, led by the German Jordanian University (GJU), aims to develop a comprehensive roadmap for green hydrogen production and utilization (GHPU) in Jordan. The project addresses the country's dual challenges of energy dependency and water scarcity by exploring innovative, sustainable solutions such as seawater desalination and atmospheric water generation. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the project evaluates the technical, economic, environmental, and social feasibility of green hydrogen technologies across various sectors, including transportation, industry, and power generation. Supported by national and international partners, the initiative also includes experimental investigations, stakeholder engagement, and the creation of an open-access knowledge platform. Ultimately, the project seeks to establish Jordan’s first green hydrogen research hub at GJU, positioning the university and the country as leaders in the regional and global hydrogen economy.
